Kniphofia – Mixed Species will give you some unique-looking flowers! These flowers will come in a colorful selection of yellow, red, green, and bicolored “pokers” of all sizes. The species included are Kniphofia rooperi, brachystachya, northiae, uvaria, and triangularis. Kniphofia is a genus that consists of perennial flowering plants that are in the Asphodelaceae family. Other common names are the Red-Hot Poker, Tritoma, Torch Lily, and Poker Plant. They grow best in full sun in fertile, well-draining soils, have a blooming season that lasts from early summer to early fall, and will grow between 14-20 inches tall. These showy flowers produce nectar while blooming, so hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and birds will be attracted to them! They are also deer and rabbit resistant, which is always a good thing. They are native to Africa and do well in beds, borders, and containers. I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine,Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
