Baptisia sphaerocarpa – Yellow Wild Indigo, also known as Bush Pea, is recognized for its cheerful yellow flowers. This Perennial has a long season of interest and bears long spikes of pea-shaped yellow flowers. When the flowers fade, the lovely blue-green trifoliate leaves will remain neat and form a beautiful backdrop for the other Perennials in your garden. If left untrimmed, the plant will form interesting, inflated seedpods that will turn a tan to brown in the fall and are great to use in dried floral arrangements. It has a blooming season that lasts from spring to early summer and grows best in full sun in dry to medium, average, well-draining soils. However, it will tolerate light shade, but full sun is the preferred option. Growing between 24 – 36 inches tall, they are also dry soil and drought tolerant plants which are some great characteristics. These showy flowers will attract pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They are great for cut flowers, dried floral arrangements, beds, and borders. Another great feature of these plants is that they are low maintenance, making this the perfect flower for the busy gardener! You don’t want to miss out on this plant find, it will surely add a nice ray of sunshine to any garden!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!
ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.
DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.
Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
