Gentiana Flavida- Cream Gentian – is a perennial plant that blooms from August to October and is easy to grow and low maintenance. They are a trumpet shaped flower with five lobes that curl back and grow in clusters. It creates a showy addition to the garden. It also attracts bumblebees and butterflies. It was used for medicinal purposes by Native Americans. It can also be used as a digestive aid although it does have a bitter taste. They are found all over North America. They do well in heavy watered areas and are usually found in swamps, wet meadows and along stream banks. Good for any garden or containers as long as it is watered well. To plant just scatter the seeds on the ground and rake into soil and of course water it well!
