Potentilla gracilis – This perennial is also known as the Slender Cinquefoil or the Graceful Cinquefoil. It is multi-stemmed, slender, and has five petals, almost rose-like. It can be pale to bright yellow in color and is considered showy. It is part of the Rosaceae family and is vigorous. They can be grown in either full sun or partial shade and will grow between 2 - 3 feet tall. It is low maintenance but performs poorly in hot or humid conditions, so if you live in a place that has hot and humid summers, be sure to be mindful of that. These flowers are drought tolerant though. Butterflies and bees love this plant, and it does well in open spaces. It gets its name from the Latin word  Potens, meaning powerful, and Cinquefoil comes from quinque, meaning five, and folium meaning leaf.
