Aconitum napellus – Monkshood is a plant of legends. Its origin is Asia and parts of Europe where it was used for many different purposes as a poison. Early warriors would dip their arrows in monkshood that they prepared. Women were also lovers of monkshood as a little here and there would cause a husband his demise. The beautiful blue trumpet shaped flowers would fool most of their deadly abilities. It also is said to repel Wolves if you have a Wolf problem. The spires of blooms are magnificent to behold, and I can see why it was so popular. Can I get you a cup of tea?
