Chrysanthemum maximum Silver Princess Shasta. This pure white perennial wildflower with yellow anthers is a happy, hardy plant that will brighten up any space it is in. Blooming from June to fall, this mounding plant is popular for its adaptability, noticeable size, and grows more compact and neat, making it even more desirable. The flowers are very unique in that the petals open in the morning and close at night. The foliage is dark green and neatly shaped, and is happy in most soils as long as it is well drained. It is fast growing and will give you blooms its first season planted from seed. This wonderful plant is easy to grow, but if you will be planting them in an area that is generally cool and damp, keep an eye out for powdery mildew and holes on its leaves.
