Hibiscus Laevis rose mallow

Hibiscus Laevis - Rose Mallow. Aka: Hibiscus Militaris, smooth rose mallow, Halberd-leaved Rose Mallow. This deep-rooted herbaceous perennial with its thick stems produce luscious 5 petal tropical looking flowers. Presenting with beautiful delicate light pink petals, turning darker towards the center, with deep maroon eyes, surrounding the pistils and stamens. During the spring it is slow growing but when the summer sun and heat come it transforms into a fast growing, showy wonderland. The self-sowing plant is easy to care for and when placed in full sun and proper spacing, the chance for disease is slim to none. It favors the summer heat and humidity but will need extra watering according to weather conditions. If your plant exceeds approximately 4 feet, it may need staking to avoid falling over and damage from wind etc. Popular planting spots include moist soil along water edges, cottage gardens, rear borders and native plant gardens. These flowers, that bloom from July to September, will be sure to make a stunning addition to any area you choose. It can grow in sand or clay with sufficient moisture and can tolerate poor drainage.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
