Nepeta Mussinii - Grey Catnip seed

Nepeta Mussinii - Grey Catnip also known as Catmint, is an attractive, hardy, easy to grow perennial that is best known for its aromatic foliage which tends to attract cats, hence the name. Its leaves are a gray to green color and has stems with small two-lipped flowers that are a mauve or blue color. It is recommended to trim back the faded stems to encourage more blooms during the Summertime. These grow best in full sun and will grow up to 24 inches tall. This plant will attract Bees and other beneficial pollinators to your garden. It’s important to note that Catmint needs a sunny position and must have soil that is freely draining. Most Catmints are in fact drought tolerant, especially those that have silvery-grey leaves. It does great in beds and sunny borders in the garden. Cats can safely nibble on and eat Catmint leaves, stems, and flowers, so grow this plant and give your little furry friend a treat! There are over 250 species of Nepeta in Europe and Asia. But only a fraction of these make it onto a gardener’s list of must-haves. Unlike its cousin catnip (Nepeta cataria), Mussinii catmint does not drive felines wild, so you are free to plant it in your garden without fear of your yard turning into a hangout for tipsy tabbys.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
