Poppy - Papaver Somniferum - Blue Moon. This flower is a definite choice for any garden. This brilliant single petaled white flower has delicate little brush-like marks of bluish purple at the base of each blowsy petal that glows in the moonlight! Looking at how dainty and delicate they seem, one may think they would be hard to grow, but it's just the opposite. They're both easy to grow and maintain. No fertilizer is necessary. They are self sowers, but you can deadhead when the flowers begin to fade, and petals fall to extend the blooming time. Even when the pretty petals fall, you still have a very unique seed pod that is commonly used for drying and made into decorations. They are known as a breadseed variety with edible blue seeds. They also do very well in containers or planters and gardens.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
