Poppy – Stylophorum Lasiocarpum – Chinese Celandine Poppy is a dainty plant with bright yellow 4-petaled flowers that bloom in terminal clusters. The appearance of this plant is quite unique. The flower stems have bright yellow sap, the leaves have bright orange sap, and the roots have bright red sap. These plants love part shade to full shade and have a long blooming season lasting from May to September. If not kept in at least part shade, the foliage may be scorched by full sun. The flowers are followed by bristly, silver-haired seed capsules, which will self-seed lightly around your garden. These plants are native to Central China and will attract bees to your garden while being resistant to deer and rabbits. These plants would be best in sun-dappled shady areas of your garden and can also be used in beds and borders. They are easy to grow in rich well-drained soils with dry to medium moisture and they are also drought tolerant. These plants prefer rich woodland areas.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
