Dianthus Caryophyllus – Series Grenadin Yellow seed

Dianthus Caryophyllus fl. Pl. - Grenadin Series Grenadin Yellow also commonly known as the Carnation may be treated as an annual or a short-lived perennial in the garden. These plants form a low mound of leaves that are a grassy grey-green color, that bear upright stems of fully double, florist-type flowers that have soft yellow petals. They have a nice spicy-clove fragrance. They have a blooming season that starts in early Summer and lasts until early Fall, grows best in full sun with normal or sandy, well-draining soil, and will grow between 16 – 20 inches tall. It’s important to note that good drainage is essential for winter hardiness. These plants perform best in areas that have cool Summers. It is recommended to divide clumps every second Spring, or to plant new ones in order to maintain vigor. These fragrant flowers will attract numerous pollinators to your garden such as Hummingbirds, Butterflies, and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They make great cut flowers, do well in containers, and in borders in the garden. A great feature of this plant is that it is easy to care for, which is great for the beginning gardener! You don’t want to miss out on this plant find, it will surely add a nice flare to your Summer garden!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
