Dipsacus sylvestris - Wild teasel seed purple flowers green flowers

Dipsacus Sylvestris – is a biennial that blooms from July to August. This showy plant is a cylindrical array of clusters of lavender flowers on a cone. It does well in full sun and can grow up to eight feet tall! This flower attracts bees while being deer resistant. This plant is also knows as a teasel and it was used in the textile or fabric making industry. In fact some fabric makers still use the “teasel” method! The roots have known to be edible and used in teas and stews, I would however do your own research on how to prepare. They are good for beds, meadows and fields. Some nice features of this plant are they are easy to grow and low maintenance. Don’t miss out on this flower seed find. They will bring a unique show to any garden!
