Dodecatheon meadia Shooting Star – is a perennial that blooms in the spring. This showy plant emerges from a basal rosette and produces upright flowering stems that have large groups of 8-20 nodding flowers in colors of pink, white, or rosy pink. Each flower has 5 swept back petals with a cluster of yellow stamens and the flowers turn skyward hence the name shooting star. It is a Plant of Merit and attracts bees while being resistant to deer and rabbits.
