Gypsophila paniculata fl. Pl. – Snowflake also commonly known as Baby’s Breath, is a mound-forming, semi-evergreen, branching perennial that has narrow, lance-shaped, large leaves that are a dark grey-green color. It has open panicles of double, tiny white flowers. It blooms in the Summertime, grows best in full sun with chalky, loamy, well-draining soil, and will grow up to 40 inches tall. It’s important to note that this plant dislikes wet Winter conditions, and make sure to avoid using heavy, too fertile soil. These flowers will attract pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. A great feature is they are generally disease and pest free. It is recommended to cut back after flowering to encourage a second bloom. These make good cut flowers, do well in containers, and in beds and borders in the garden.
