Gypsophila Repens – Rosea seed purple pink flowers with dark veins and green centers

Gypsophila repens – Rosea also known as Creeping Baby’s Breath, is a dwarf cousin to the more familiar, tall Baby’s Breath. These plants form a low mat of leaves that are a grey green color, and bear masses of starry, small flowers that are a soft pink. They have a blooming season that ranges from early Summer to Mid-Summer, grows best in full sun with normal or sandy, well-draining soil and will grow between 4 – 6 inches tall. These flowers will attract numerous pollinators to your garden such as Hummingbirds, Butterflies, and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. A nice characteristic of this plant is that it is heat and drought tolerant once established. It is recommended to clip plants lightly immediately after blooming. They do well in containers, in borders in the garden, can be used for edging, cascading over walls, or placed in rock gardens. A great feature of this plant is that it is easy to care for, which is great for the beginning gardener!
