Poppy Meconopsis Baileys shades of blue. This absolutely mesmerizing plant touting a shade
of blue that I don't know if it could be duplicated. In 1913 this excellent plant was found and
named after Frederick M Bailey, an explorer and British army officer. After some controversy
over the plant’s species was tossed around by the Jesuits and others it was settled to keep the
name as it stands today. Even though the plant is not “hard” to grow, the requirements for its
success must be adhered to or it will definitely fail. During the first bloom it goes crazy with
continuous flowers and it is advised to nip the buds to produce a robust plant. The plants are
used well for flower borders and beds, cottage and informal gardens, or under planting roses
and shrubs; and wherever they are, you will see butterflies gather. Enjoy!
