Poppy - Meconopsis napaulensis - Nepal poppy. Also known as the satin poppy and Himalayan poppy, the flowers display hues of deep red with a golden center. They grow up to 6 feet and can make a fabulous statement in a wildlife garden, cottage garden or woodland garden. The plant can also be processed to extract its oil that is edible. Also, the root is used to produce a narcotic. These plants also have certain requirements that must be met in order for them not to fail.
