Potentilla nepalensis - Roxana. Aka: Cinquefoil. Native to the Himalayas in Nepal, this is a
compact, clumping deciduous perennial. The foliage consists of a mound with sprawling red tinged wiry stems, branching out , covered with hairy toothed strawberry-like mid green leaves. Atop of a single stem sits showy open saucer-shaped 5 petaled flowers of copper-pink and dark cherry red centers. The versatility of this plant makes it popular among gardeners due to its ability to adapt to various areas and soil types. It is easy to grow with low maintenance, tolerates dry soil, and is frost hardy with long bloom times from June to September and can be divided in the spring. Popular for borders, containers, bedding, rock gardens, cottage gardens, raised beds and ground cover. Attracts Hummingbirds, Butterflies and Bees but not deer or rabbit. Lovely bright cheery flowers in reds and coppery pinks growing under 2 feet make a great walkway edge.
