Penstemon pinifolius is a long lived, easy to grow, heavy blooming plant with spires of hot orange tubular flowers. Bright orange blooms will fill this plant mid Spring through late Summer. it will form a twisted woody base where new growth will emerge. This wildflower is an easy to grow Penstemon. It has thin, narrow foliage which resembles pine needles. This plant loves full sun, and will attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to your garden while being resistant to deer and rabbits. These plants are easy to grow and drought tolerant. They are best for rock gardens, mixed borders, and containers. Pollinators love Penstemon, especially Hummingbirds.
