Zinnia Haageana - Persian Carpet. This beautiful little power flower has nothing but positive attributes. It's easy to grow and will bloom all season up to the first frost. They give your garden a splash of red, orange, gold and yellow, which kind of remind you of a Persian Carpet, ergo the name. Butterflies and bees love to visit and maybe a hummingbird or two as well. Well drained soil and sunshine is all you will need for successful plants. Easy peasy to grow from seed and heavy bloomers if you deadhead the spent blooms or cut them for inside the house on the Table. These flowers have been popular in gardens since your great grandmother's day, being referred to as old-fashioned flowers. They are low maintenance, and since they are from hot desert-like areas, they are drought tolerant and prefer fast draining gritty soil. Also, due to their origin, they are super sensitive to frost and cold wet soil. When transplanting, make sure soil is warmed up enough to prevent loss. Commonly used for edging, cutting flowers, containers, and mass planting.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!
ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.
DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.
Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
