Bracteantha Bracteata - Copper Red also known as the Strawflower, are tall and well-branched plants, that produce vibrant copper, double blooms that are 2 – 2 ½ inches across. They have a blooming season ranging from Summer to Fall, will grow between 36 – 40 inches tall, and grow best in full sun in average soil with good drainage. These flowers will attract Bees to your garden while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. These make excellent dried flowers, can also be used in fresh flower arrangements and do well in back of beds and borders in the garden. Harvest Tip: for fresh or dried, cut when 2 – 3 layers of the petals have unfolded, but before the flowers are fully opened revealing their centers.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
