Scabiosa Atropurpurea - Fata Morgana seed

Scabiosa Atropurpurea - Fata Morgana. This flower presents as a soft creamy yellow with centers that darken to a soft apricot color, with spherical shaped flowers on long stems. If deadheaded it will bring multiple blooms all summer long. This flower can be grown as a perennial along coastal areas and an annual in hotter climates. It is an easy to grow, fun and unusual flower. They resemble pincushions wearing the pins. Although unusual it has a touch of class with its rich color, sweet fragrance, and long strong stems. Attracts Hummingbirds, Butterflies, Bees along with other beneficial insects, which is a bonus for the garden.  Excellent choice for cut flowers, and eye catching along borders and bedding. Scabiosas have been around for Centuries and have been used in Gardens around the World. I read the name Scabiosa refers to the Latin word "scabius", meaning itch, referring to the use of the plant's leaves to treat skin troubles.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
