Veronica Longifolia - Blue Shades. This is an upright clumping perennial having bushy bright green foliage. Strong erect stems grow in columns that are showered with a multitude of tiny tubular flowers having a curved green tip. The beautiful true blue radiant flowers are stacked narrowly up the long stems coming to a point at the top, resembling a long thin cone. The flowers bloom from the button up causing a long bloom time. Flowering starts mid-summer and goes on for several months, standing out proudly in a garden screaming “here I am”. It is easy to grow, fuss free, and is happiest in rich loamy soil that is moist and well drained, but will tolerate average soil. The plant will have a 2nd bloom period if the stems are cut down after the 1st blooming cycle. If planted in a shady area it may need to be staked to prevent drooping. This plant is generally pest and disease free, but is somewhat susceptible to powdery mildew and leaf spots if not given adequate spacing for air flow.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
