Amsonia orientalis – European Bluestar has roots in several varieties of plants. A member of the Dogbane family, it is also related to vincas and periwinkles and frangipani. In fall the leaves turn a golden yellow color to them and when in bloom it is a small bush that blooms prolifically. Most Bluestars origin is in the U.S., but this variety is grown in Turkey and Greece, although it is a rare plant now due to environmental destruction of habitat. The blue star shaped flowers cover the plant, and it requires no care. Great lazy gardener plant. Big bang with no effort on your part.
