Cardiocrinum giganteum- Giant Lily – True to its name, the Giant Lily is indeed giant! Growing between 7-9 feet tall, this perennial is a showstopper. Blooms in the summer months and is best in groups or masses. They are trumpet-shaped white flowers with purple throats and up to 20 blooms grow on each stem! The Giant Lily is a high maintenance flower that needs fertile, well-drained soil. Attracts bees and butterflies but make sure to watch out for slugs. If the soil isn’t well drained, bulb rot can occur. When the plant eventually dies, it leaves many small offset bulbs that will bloom in a few years. These fragrant flowers are great for beds and borders, and are commonly used in cottage and woodland gardens. Don’t miss out on this flower find, they will definitely add a nice flare to any garden!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!
ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.
DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.
Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!
