Dierama adelphicum genus name is derived from the Greek word dierama, meaning "funnel," and alludes to the flower shape. Adelphium is a South African plant that is from Swaziland. Dierama are often called Angel's fishing rod because of the way the branches bend and sway when the plant flowers and the weight of the flowers cause it to bend. This variety is more a dwarf as it only reaches 3 feet average. Being recently discovered it is rather rare at this time. The clusters of pink bell-shaped flowers all group together and hang at the end of the stalks. This variety is a profuse bloomer. Certain species have been used in traditional African medicine and spiritual practices. Very rare species collected from Swaziland. These are Summer Bloomers and flower until Fall.
