Echinacea purpurea - Purple Coneflower seed

Echinacea purpurea – Purple Coneflower is an ever-so-popular flower that has showy lavender flowers that will bloom profusely for up to two months in mid-late summer and will then sometimes even re-bloom in the fall. They will grow between 3 – 4 feet tall, and can be grown in either full sun or partial sun in fertile, loam, well-draining soils but will tolerate clay or dryer soils, too. These flowers are a favorite nectar source for pollinators including hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and birds. In late summer, the large seed heads will attract Goldfinches and other birds. They are deer and rabbit resistant. These plants are somewhat drought resistant, however, the entire plant may wilt if the soil gets too dry or the sunlight is too strong, so be mindful of this. They do well in small gardens and in large prairie meadows. A nice feature of these flowers is that they are easy to grow, making them perfect for the beginning, busy gardener! Don’t miss out on this flower seed find, they will bring you blooms that will add a nice touch to any garden!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
