Echinacea Purpurea – Green Twister is a very unusual Coneflower variety. This fragrant plant is noted for its large flowers that are 4 inches across, that have horizontally arranged petals that are a lime-green color that will transition to a pale lilac-pink and carmine color near the central cone. The numerous flowering stems are sturdy, well branched, and are held upright. They have a blooming season that ranges from mid to late Summer, will grow between 36 – 40 inches tall, and grow best in full sun in average, dry to medium moisture, well-draining soils. It is recommended to cut back the spent flowers and stems to help encourage further blooms. A nice feature of these plants is that they are heat, drought, and humidity tolerant. These showy flowers will attract numerous pollinators to your garden such as Hummingbirds, Butterflies, Bees, and Birds while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. It has been cultivated as a hardy perennial since the 1700s and was used by the early Native Americans to cure infections and wounds. They are great for cut flowers, in dried floral arrangements, and also do well in beds and borders in the garden. Another great feature of this plant is that it is low maintenance, making this the perfect plant for the busy gardener! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
