Echinacea Simulata – Pale Purple Coneflower also known as the Wavyleaf Purple Coneflower, is a plant that features very narrow, toothless, parallel-veined, dark green leaves, and large flowers that are daisy-like with dropping petals that are a pale pinkish-purple color (ray flowers), and flattened knob-like, spiny, center cones that are a coppery-orange. The flowers will appear on rigid stems, and the best flower display will be in late June to late July. These plants grow best in full sun in clay, dry, or shallow-rocky, well-draining soils and will grow between 2 – 3 feet tall. A nice feature of these plants is that they are heat, drought, and humidity tolerant. They will usually rebloom without deadheading, however, if spent flowers are promptly removed, this will improve its general appearance. If some of the seed heads are left in place, it will freely self-seed. These showy flowers will attract numerous pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies, Bees, and Birds while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They make great cut flowers, do well in dried floral arrangements, and also do well in borders, and in rock gardens. Another great characteristic of this plant is that it is low maintenance, making this the perfect plant for the busy gardener! You don’t want to miss out on this plant find, it will surely add a nice touch to any garden!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
