Nemophila discoidalis - Pennie Black –also known as Baby Black Eyes, are low growing annuals that bloom in the spring. They are black and a deep violet color with a white center and white tips, so they are very attractive. They are fast growing, can be grown in either full sun or partial shade in well drained soils, and will grow between 4 – 6 inches tall. The showy appearance of the flower attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to the garden while being resistant to deer and rabbits.
