Nepeta clarkeii also known as Himalayan Catmint, is little known, but a most welcome newcomer that pushes up bright deep violet blue flower spikes over a very long period on fragrant spearmint scented, compact foliage. A great feature of this plant is that it will grow anywhere but thrives best in a well-drained, hot position. If deadheaded, this plant will bloom from late Spring through the Summer, grows best in full sun in well-draining soil, and will grow between 2 – 3 feet tall. These flowers will attract a wide variety of pollinators to your garden such as Hummingbirds, Butterflies, and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They make great cut flowers and do well in beds and borders in the garden. You don’t want to miss out on this plant find, it will surely add a nice flare to your Summer garden!
