Salvia Napifolia

Salvia Napifolia. Aka: Turkish Sage. Herbaceous sage is a perennial native to Turkey. The

plant is a small clumping evergreen with numerous long upright woody stems and hairy soft leaves. Blooms are produced on wide spaced 1-foot inflorescences with whorls of small pale lavender to purplish violet flowers, and leaves shaped like turnips. Its natural habitat is rocky slopes and disturbed roadsides. Attracts Hummingbirds, Butterflies and Bees as well as other beneficial pollinators. Bloom time is from May to August. Native to the Mediterranean, sage has been used for centuries, and is still being used in cooking and some medicinal uses. If kept in its happy place, sage will often have leaves to harvest year-round. Uses for medicinal purposes include sore throat, respiratory problems, hot flashes, digestion, heart problems and as an astringent. It is still used to make herbal tea as a remedy for sore throat, coughing and to soothe digestive ailments. Sage has a smell and flavor similar to pepper and is used to favor meats, stuffing, and sauces. It is also grown exclusively to attract pollinators. Commonly used for cutting, ornamental gardens, cottage, and informal gardens.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!
