Silene Armeria- none so pretty. Aka: Sweet William, Catchfly, Campion. This perennial
beauty is a clump forming plant with rosette foliage, narrow leaves and long stems bearing eye popping fuschia flowers. Blooming from late spring to early summer, this very showy bright vibrant flower is gorgeous with daisy-like petals and golden yellow stamens shooting out from the center. The term “catch fly” is given to it because the plant emits a sticky sap-like substance on the stems. It doesn’t actually catch flies because they don’t really stick to it....just gnats! Experts say that this is the easiest wildflower to grow and only takes 6-8 weeks from germination to mature and bloom! It is a self sower, and when the plant comes into maturity, the pods will turn from green to brown. It grows well in poor soils as in Europe it grows on roadsides.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!
ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.
DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.
Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
