Teucrium Hircanicum also known as Iranian Wood Sage, is a showy plant that boasts dozens of lavender flower spikes that are upright, and rise atop a lush mound of fragrant, sage-like, green leaves. It has a blooming season that lasts from mid-Summer to Fall, grows best in full sun – part shade, and will grow between 24 – 30 inches tall in well-draining soil. It’s important to note that this plant appreciates afternoon shade in hot Summer areas and is drought tolerant once established, however it does best when it is watered regularly in the Summertime. It will self-seed freely in your garden. These flowers will attract pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They are native to Western Asia and make great cut flowers, do well in containers, and in beds and borders in the garden. These are also low maintenance plants, which is always a good thing for the busy gardener.
