Verbascum lychnitis – White Mullein is a rosette forming short-lived plant, that has long narrow oval shaped silvery grey-green leaves, with a sturdy stem that bears branching clusters of saucer-shaped white flowers. This plant will grow up to 35 inches tall, and does best in moist well-drained soil, and is also drought tolerant. It has a blooming season ranging from early to late summer, and an interesting fact about this plant is that it cannot grow in shade, so make sure to plant it somewhere in your garden that gets a lot of sun. It is recommended to remove spent flower spikes to promote further blooms.
