Zinnia Lilliput

Zinnia - Lilliput. This Zinnia has a reputation of being the “most popular” zinnia for a long time. This plant is upright with long erect stems producing a single daisy-like flower on its top. During a long blooming period from mid-summer to the first frost, you can enjoy long lasting flowers in vibrant colors of orange, pink, purple, red, white and yellow. They are noted for the uniform pompom-like shape, and have been at the top of the list to use as long-lasting cut flowers for vases, arrangements, and bouquets. For those who live in condos or apartments with no garden space, these flowers do very well in outdoor containers. They do best if properly spaced for adequate ventilation between them to avoid spreading pests or disease problems. They are frost sensitive and can tolerate temperatures no lower than 60 degrees F, and are most happy at 74-84 degrees F. This is such an easy to grow, low maintenance plant, and would bring some excitement to wherever you choose to place it.

*Tip: to enjoy an extended blooming time, sow a few seeds once a week after initial sowing.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
