Echinops Bannaticus The Giant– is a perennial that blooms from July to August. It is easy to grow, low maintenance and hardy. This showy plant has silver blue flowers that change color slowly from silver to blue and they are tennis ball sized spiky flower heads that look prickly but are soft. These flowers are also nectar rich and their fragrant leaves attract bees and butterflies. They are good for back borders. They are also good for fresh or dried arrangements. They made great cut flowers. It is called the giant for its flower head size compared to other flowers from the same family.
