Euphorbia Myrsinites or Myrtle Spurge seed

Euphorbia Myrsinites - Myrtle Spurge. Aka: blue spurge, creeping spurge, donkey tail, myrtle spurge, among others. This dwarf is loved by beneficial insects and is good to have a few in your garden to help keep the plants healthy and you will enjoy the hummingbirds and butterflies who frequent. Euphorbia has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries. These plants are unique looking plants in the succulent family. The plant comes forth as an erect spiral tower of compact, waxy, glossy blue, pointed leaves. The plant is a short-lived evergreen in mild climates that grows prostrate up to a foot or

more, then the stems take an upward turn, growing up to 8 inches in height. During the second year of life the plant produces yellowish green star-shaped flowers with chartreuse to bright yellow bracts and will present with a pink hue with age. The plant is self-sowing and fast spreading, but can be easily contained by cutting old stems down to the base when flowers start fading. The plant is drought tolerant and prefers dry, hot spots or any area that is sunny. It does well on dry walls and rock gardens or can make a wonderful statement in mixed containers or for borders and edging. Use caution when handling, as the toxic sap can cause skin irritation and is toxic if ingested, causing nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
