Eryngium Variifolium - Miss Marble seed

Eryngium Variifolium - Miss Marble - introduced in 1997 and originating in Morocco, which gives its common name ‘Moroccan Holly’. Known for its deep green foliage, the leaf's veins are marbled silver which is where the name comes from. This quickly became a favorite in the garden since it loves full sun and is very drought tolerant. Being a unique plant, this variety is a perfect addition to your usual pollinators and is an improved version of the standard ‘Sea Holly’, being both more compact and low growing. As the heat comes around July to September this evergreen perennial comes to bloom shooting upright into branched stems that carry an almost metallic blue flower held by a white spiny collar that each fork at its ends adding to its overall prickly feel.
