Aconitum anthora Healing Wolfsbane. Aka: yellow monks head, healing wolfsbane, devils
helmet, leopard's bane. Anthora means “against thora”. Thora is a plant extremely poisonous to humans and livestock. This anthora’s tubular roots were used as an antidote to the poison. Usually yellow, the flower can be various hues of purple and lavender. A herbaceous perennial, this evergreen foliage grows from an underground tuber sprouting into an erect sparsely branched stem holding the stacked tubular flowers. Bloom period is from July to September, and is commonly harvested for the ornamental flowers and leaves; it also has medicinal uses listed below which were discontinued in the 1930’s to early 1940’s in the western hemisphere. The root contains a large amount of volatile salt and essential oils, while the foliage and stems contain diterpenoid alkaloids. It has been used externally against rheumatism and deep pain, but it can irritate the skin.Internally, it has been used for weak pulse, vegetable poisons, feverish colds, pneumonia, croup, heart conditions, and cardiac arrest. However, please do you own research and/or consult with a physician first before consuming any plant or flower. Its native range is widespread, but mainly in European mountains, such as the Alps and the Carpathians, and the northern parts of Asia.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!
ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.
