Aster - Callistephus pompon - Blue Moon is not a typical flower, it is quite unique in how its colors fill the plant. The edges are white but inside that you will see dark blue and lighter blue around a yellow center. They are definitely a conversation piece for neighbors and friends. The flowers are 2 – 3 inches across and doubles like a pom pom, ergo the nickname. The plant will grow to about 20 inches tall and produce quite a few flowers that last for a very long time whether on the plant or cut for a vase. These fragrant flowers draw Butterflies and Bees to them. Plant in containers so everyone can see them, they will comment on these and another aster called hiro no maru, both are magnificent.
