Poppy - Papaver orientale - Royal Wedding has large, papery, cup-shaped crisp white flowers that are generally 4 – 6 inches wide, with a dark eye and black splotches at the base. This plant grows in clumps, and the flowers rise atop long stalks that have thistle-like, silvery-green leaves. It has a blooming season ranging from late Spring to Early Summer, grows best in full sun in well- draining soil, will grow up to 30 inches tall, and is also drought tolerant. It’s important to note that this plant doesn’t respond well to high summer heat and humidity. These showy flowers will attract pollinators to your garden such as Hummingbirds, Butterflies, and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They make great cut flowers and do well in beds and borders in the garden. These are also easy to grow, low maintenance plants, which is always a good thing for the busy gardener!
