Verbena tenuisecta – Moss Verbena is a magnificent looking plant with lovely 2-inch clusters of 5 – 15 blooms ranging in colors from violet, lilac, purple, and blue. These flowers are borne above fern-like, almost mossy, finely cut, dark green leaves. The species name “tenuisecta” means thinly cut, which refers to the delicate foliage. These showy plants have a blooming season ranging from spring to summer, will grow between 8 – 12 inches tall, and do best in full sun with moist well-drained soil.
