Mimosa Pudica- Sensitive Plant – a perennial or annual that blooms in the summer. They are purple pink small flowers that are fluffy flower heads. Considered an herbaceous creeping shrub it does well in well drained soil. It is also called the shy plant, sleepy plant or touch-me-not. It attracts bees and butterflies with its showy color. It can be an indoor plant or outdoor plant making it hardy. If planting indoors plant next to a window so it gets lots of sunlight. It is called the sensitive plant because the leaves are responsive to touch, temperature and motion making them fold inwards when triggered. They are good in pots, containers, patios or for groundcover. Germination requires the seed shell to be scratched or soak in water overnight, thinly cover in moist soil in an lighted area.
